HeadStart - Everlasting Perfection (Part 2)
Hebrews 10:14 'For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified'.
An In-dept understanding of the knowledge of “Perfection” in the “Mystery of Christ” couldn’t be over emphasised in these last days and yet, this divine revelation is a critical path necessary to stir us in the right course of life preordained and consecrated for God’s own people before the foundation of the world.
To date we have established the “Means” of perfecting the saints of God through the offering and sanctification of lord Jesus Christ but hardly scratched the definite accomplishment let alone the purpose, implication, and the vocation of this calling for the saints.
This “Means” was established as the offering and the sanctification implying the “all-inclusive” death and resurrection for/of the saints respectively and then the ascension and enthronement resulting everlasting perfection
(Study text: Heb. 10:14, Rom 6:3-5, 9-11. Eph 2:1-5. 1 Peter 1:2-3, Col 2: 12-15.)
Hebrews 2:14-15 'Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also him-self likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage'.
Thank God we are no longer subject to a lifetime of the bondage of death and its accomplices.
That’s right! It is the truth of God’s word even though it may in certain cases, not align with facts and experiences. Truths and facts are not the same, but it is the truth that set’s us free.
What then or more is “Everlasting Perfection” and in practice, how does it impact the saints?
Let’s connect the dots;
The root word perfected (Greek teleioo and occasionally pleroo in the new testament) is trans-lated in various synonyms across the new testament: to complete, i.e. (literally) accomplish, or (figuratively) consummate (in character):--consecrate, finish, fulfil, make), perfect.
“Jesus anxiously looked forward to it and dedicated his life to the perfection of the saints”:
Check out the following verses:
- Luke 13:32 'And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected (teleioo). '
- John 4:34 'Jesus saith unto them, my meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish (teleioo - perfect) his work. '
- John 5:36 ' But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish (teleioo - perfect), the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. '
- John 17:4 ' I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished (teleioo - perfected), the work which thou gavest me to do'.
This is the reason why Jesus came; it is the finished works of Christ.
The saints and prophet of old, looked forward to it, 'God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect Heb. 11:40.'
By implication everlasting perfection can be examined in detail under the lenses of the follow-ing divine concepts and you’d be amazed at the revelation in these truths: let’s examine a few of these concepts and you’d get the mystery.
- Divine Oneness
- Divine Union
- Mystery of Christ
- The Body of Christ
- Baptisms into One Name
- Christ and His Church
- Divine Communion
- The Unity of The Spirit
- God United with Mankind
- Man Glorified in God
- The Assembly of God Kind
- Mount Sion
Divine Oneness
It's Gods choice, predestined and adoption plan to reinstate Mankind by Jesus Christ to fulfilling HIS original purpose to the praise and glory of HIS grace and the greater glory of Mankind Eph. 1:3-6, Eph. 3:9-10, 1 Cor 15:45-49.
Hebrews 2:10-11 'For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect (teleioo) through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, '
Notice the following:
- • The bringing-in of many sons unto glory, implies the perfection of the captain of our sal-vation through death.
- • And not only so, but the perfect oneness for both the sanctifier and they who are sancti-fied.
Jesus said the same.
John 17:22-23 'And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect (teleioo) in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.'
Divine oneness is the literal numeral one (Greek: hice), an indistinguishable and inseparable oneness between Christ and his church.
Divine Union
God bestowed all eternal blessings of life on this mystery of the union Christ.
2 Peter 1:3-4 'According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. '
David compared this divine union to the ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard and skirts of Aarons, and the dew of Hermon and mount Zion and there he said, the lord com-manded the blessing, even of life for ever more Psalms 133
Mystery of Christ
In Eph. 3:6 Paul passionately emphasized the necessity of understanding his knowledge in the mystery of Christ and described how 'the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:'
In Eph. 3:9 And to make all men see what is the “fellowship of the mystery”, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: '
“What is the fellowship of this mystery of Christ and why is it important to God?”
Colossians 1:26-28 'Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect (teleioo) in Christ Jesus: '
Christ in the Church is the only hope of glory and the knowledge and consciousness of this mys-tery results in the manifestation of the perfection of the saints.
Ephesians 3:10-11 'God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.'
God’s plan and purpose is to demonstrate to the entire universe (Both physical and spiritual) HIS manifold (multi-dimensional) wisdom through you and I together in Christ.
Ephesians 2:15-16 'Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity there-by: '
“When a man is born into Christ, he cannot be unborn hence it is everlasting in nature”.
Colossians 2:9-10 'For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are com-plete (Pleroo i.e. perfect) in him, which is the head of all principality and power:'
The above implies, in us (Christs’) dwelleth the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Wao! what a powerful scripture!
In the body of Christ dwelleth all the fullness of Godhead bodily.
Ephesians 5:29-30 'For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. '
Now you see how we cannot be infirmed, frail, weak or sickly or diminished, being of his flesh, and of his bones
“God nourishes, cherishes and protects the oneness at all cost.”
This is the exact reason why Jesus was pedantic about abiding in his love, harmonising Gods love with loving one another John 15:10, 12 , 14 and 17 etc
Divine Communion
A divine sharing, fellowship, and communion.
We share God’s life through the Spirit eternally resident in the body, 'For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. '1 Corinthians 12:13
1 Corinthians 10:16-17 'The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we be-ing many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. '
“The only frailties that can arise are those caused from within as a result of walking against Communion (sharing).”
1 Corinthians 11:29-30 'For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damna-tion to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. '
When a member of this Communion or more precisely this sharing is not walking in the con-sciousness of this oneness by implication not walking in love, he is not walking in perfection, then he is walking against himself and the blessedness of the Communion and attracts damna-tion (krima) which is outside the sharing or fellowship.
That’s right damnation otherwise known as condemnation (Krima) only exists outside the one-ness, union and communion Rom 8:1.
He has shielded us from damnation and condemnation by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus – the law frees us from death and the law of Sin.
“The target operating model in Christ Jesus is the love of Christ Rom 8:35-37”
Who is Christ?
1 Corinthians 12:12 'For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. '
This is the Mystery of Christ, the Lord and his Church.
Unity of The Spirit
"Walking in the consciousness of the everlasting perfection is keeping the unity of the Spirit by walking in love of Christ".
Ephesians 4:2-6 'With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. '
“The realisation, embracement, persuasion and consciousness of this oneness and observation of the union unleashes and manifest it’s power in our life”
Apostle Paul, John, James and Peter are no different in their definition of Perfection.
Apostle Paul:
Colossians 3:14 'Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. '
Another translation (NIV) 'And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. '
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 'For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not hence-forth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. '
Apostle John:
1 John 2:4-5 'He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. '
John went on to explain in the following verse; 'He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.'
"The expectation is to manifest the love of God shed abroad in our Hearts by the Spirit and by so doing, we materialise its virtue (excellences) and power in our natural lives" .
1 John 4:12 'No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.'
1 John 4:17 'Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judg-ment: because as he is, so are we in this world. '
1 John 4:21 'And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his broth-er also.'
Apostle James:
James 1:2-4 'My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. '
"Wanting nothing else other than God (Christ & Church) is the proof of our love defined as per-fection"
James 1:12 'Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him". '
Perfection is what he meant by; 'Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. James 1:18 '
James 1:25 'But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. '
"God will not take a second place in our lives and he demonstrated this by providing for the first and only place in our hearts".
James 4:4-5 'Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is en-mity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? '
Apostle Peter:
"Divine consciousness of the "Perfection" in the "Mystery of Christ" shields us from turbulent and perilous times and even better, it prepares us for the rapture of a glorious church without spot, and blameless".
1 Peter 3:8 'Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: '
1 Peter 4:7-10 'But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober and watch unto pray-er. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the mul-titude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. '
2 Peter 3:14-16 'Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. '
Eternal Perfection therefore is the bringing in of many sons into God’s glory to perfect the captain of our salvation through suffering (death) and resurrection (sanctification);
The efficacy and manifestation of this truth in our lives is a function of our embracement, persuasion, consciousness, and protection of its integrity by walking in the love of Christ and the saints.
